The Brass Rail

The Brass Rail

The newest addition to the Alpine Lodge complex is the Brass Rail. This spacious new room has seating for 120 people. Watch all your favorite TV events on our giant 12' x 16' screen. It also has a stage, dance floor, and great sound system. Call us for meetings, banquets, weddings, or receptions. Catering and bar also available.

"Wild West Tale Spins," a hootin' and hollerin' performance of storytelling, song and humor of the west featuring Deborah Blanche, will kick-off the summer schedule of live entertainment and Dinner Theatre at the Brass Rail this Thursday, June 28.

Deborah Blanche    Doors open at 6PM, with dinner beginning at 6:30PM. Tickets are $25 for adults, $12.50 for kids 12 years and under, under 2 years free. For reservations or information, call the Alpine Lodge at 754-2952.

Deborah is no stranger to Red River audiences. She made her last appearance at the Brass Rail last autumn during Senior's Week, performing her popular "Women of the West" show before a sold-out and appreciative crowd. She has also played her famous "Mrs. Custer's Last Stand," the touching story of Elizabeth Bacon Custer, wife (and widow) of George Armstrong Custer.

Weaving a tapestry of colorful characters and events into her performances is something that Deborah does best as she combines the stories, poetry and songs of Western Americana from Hispanic, Native American, ranch and frontier folk cultures. Hers is not just a sit-down, front porch style of storytelling, it is a highly dramatized program that puts the audience right in the middle of what is happening, and is designed for the enjoyment of all ages.

The Brass Rail    The Brass Rail will be featuring dining and entertainment seven nights a week through the summer.

Back for a second year following a successful run in 2000, Doc Thurly Bilkem's Red River Medicine Show and BBQ Dinner will be every Monday and Friday. The show which features a rollicking blend of folk music and dubious comedy, is a glimpse of a popular form of entertainment during the late 19th century: a traveling medicine show. Fritz Davis portrays the unflappable Doc and Peter Wooten is the comic relief.

The Brass Rail    Saturday nights will be reserved for intrigue and laughter as the Brass Rail Murder Mystery hits the boards. "Death By Fishing," a whodunit set at the Troutman Fishing Camp in Red River, will run June 30, July 7 and 14.

Sunday will offer a special Children's Show with Jeep Tour Jeff and His Furry Forest Friends. Jeff Fagan, a real-life Jeep Tour guide, will have songs, stories, dancing and Pizza for the whole family.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be reserved for family entertainment as the Wild West Magic Show presented by Blair. St. Productions will dazzle the audience with unbelievable feats of prestidigitation
