For the past 24 hours Red River has bared the brunt of a huge mid winter snowstorm. The National Weather Service had predicted 8 to 10 inches from this storm, however, over 24 inches has fallen within the last day and it's still coming.
Private snowplow drivers were working overtime throughout the day keeping their customers roads and driveways open while the town of Red River had their big machinery out all day keeping the major roads passable and everyone you see has a big smile on their face.
The storm is supposed to last until midnight Saturday night with at least a few more inches of accumulation expected.
The ski area and snowmobile trails should be experiencing incredible conditions from all this new snow, which is just in time for our Mardi Gras celebration beginning this coming week.
Make your plans to come up, it's going to be an epic week with Mardis Gras and tons of fresh powder.
